The Nathan Laski Memorial Charitable Trust welcomes applications from Registered Charities which advance education or support welfare activities in the Jewish community in Greater Manchester, with particular emphasis on young people.

We would normally only support charities with an annual turnover in their latest accounts of less than £100,000. We would also expect charities to be up-to-date with their compliance requirements. In unusual circumstances we may support clearly defined projects from larger charities within Greater Manchester.

Please only apply if you meet the above criteria.

Grants would normally be for between £250 and £2,500 and may be for small capital items or project costs.

If you wish to apply for a grant, please write to us outlining in no more than 1,000 words:

  1. The need you are meeting and the evidence you have for that need

  2. The outcomes you hope to achieve with our funding

  3. The work you intend to deliver to meet the need and achieve the outcomes

You should include a budget with your application but no further documentation is necessary. Please ensure that you indicate your registered charity number.

The trust will not give grants for the regular activities of synagogues but may consider proposals within the grant criteria that reach young people across the wider Jewish community.

Please note that grants are paid by cheque. Please ensure that you have the facilities to pay in to your bank. You can usually pay in through a Post Office or at a Banking Hub. Info at https://www.postoffice.co.uk/everydaybanking.

Applications should be posted to:

or emailed to jonathan@nlmct.org.uk

to arrive by 30th September for consideration by trustees. If you do not hear back from us within 3 months of this date, your application will not have been successful.
